National Internship Program

the Presidential Human Resources Office has launched the National Internship Program (USP) to ensure that our youth benefit from internship opportunities provided by public institutions and private sector organizations in accordance with principles of equal opportunity and merit.
Through this program, the aim is to increase the employability of young people through a transparent, traceable, and innovative evaluation method, support equal opportunities in accessing career opportunities, and expand internship opportunities to all fields, not just those requiring mandatory internships in technical departments.
In 2022, the scope of the National Internship Program was expanded to facilitate the meeting of human resource needs for SMEs(KOBİ) and to support the employability of students from vocational and technical secondary education institutions by including these students as well.
Students applying to the program are evaluated based on their performance during their educational journey, efforts to enhance their skills, and achievements, with scores given in academic/professional, artistic/social, and sports competencies. Employers, on the other hand, send internship offers to students based on the competency scores in these areas, without seeing the students' personal information.
In addition to its success domestically, the program has also been well-regarded internationally and has been showcased twice by the OECD as an exemplary practice for member countries. It has provided many young people at the beginning of their professional lives with the opportunity to experience the workplace and guide their career journeys while still being students.
