The event the 27th alumni day was held as a part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the graduation of the first graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry which was held   traditionally every year. The event which started with a scientific program continued in the afternoon with the 25th Anniversary Graduation Ceremony and Plaque Presentation and followed by a symbolic cap-throwing ceremony.                

The scientific event was attended by Assistant Director of the Center, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Düzgün, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. Kahraman Güngör, Assistant Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülsün Akay and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gamze Metin Gürsoy, faculty members, and graduates from the 1998-1999 academic year who were celebrating their 25th anniversary. The morning program started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem followed by the opening speech which was made by Prof. Dr. Kahraman Güngör who is Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. The scientific program continued with a speech by Assistant Director of the Career Planning Application and Research Center Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serkan Düzgün and conferences of Prof. Dr. Ali Cemal Tınaz and Prof. Dr. Mazlum Bülent Kurtiş.

The event which continued after the afternoon, started with the speech by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Barış ŞİMŞEK. After that the ceremony continued with a speech by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Aykut Mısırlıgil, one of the first graduates of the Faculty of Dentistry who was celebrating his 50th anniversary of graduation. Prof. Dr. Kahraman Güngör presented Prof. Dr. Mısırlıgil with a plaque commemorating his 50 years since graduation. Following this, Faculty members gave plaques to the graduates commemorating their 25 years of graduation, and they also displayed a slideshow of special pictures. The ceremony ended after the symbolic cap-throwing by the graduates and a group photo.
