A ceremony was held by the Career Planning Application and Research Center (KAPUM) to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the graduation of the 1964 class of the English Language Teaching Department of Gazi Education Institute. The event took place at the Rectorate's New Senate Hall, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, Dean of the Gazi Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi, Chair of the Department of English Language Education Prof. Dr. Paşa Tevfik Cephe, Coordinator of International Relations Dr. Aslıhan Selcen Bingöl, Deputy Director of KAPUM Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Türker, Lecturer Dr. Zeynep Nur Aydın Kılıç, and General Secretary Mehmet Ali Özkan, as well as the 1964 alumni: Aldülkadir Çakır, Ayşe Çakırgöz Mirasçı, Ahmet Uğur, Bilge Atabay Özyapıcı, Celal Şıvgın, Fatma Ulusoy, Göksel Ulualp Maral, Gülşen Güngör, Günay Topçudere Tümerdem, Hamide Gülaçan Uzakgören, Hayriye Kasapoğlu, Işık Esin Hakimoğlu Safa, Mehmet Özturan, Muzaffer Türkbayrak, Nermin Şenol, Ömer Çekelez, Özcan Demirel, Perihan Çıraklar Alper, Ramazan (Alıç) Velieceoğlu, Yezdan Arcak Orhun, Yüksel Kılıçözlü Aydoğan, Çimen Arda Caner, Fulya Uğur Ercan, Tükan Sümbülyuva Erkan, and Neşe Gedik Ünal.

Our alumni felt the thrill of reuniting at the present Rectorate Building, one of the primary buildings constructed in Turkey for teacher training purposes and a testament to the value that the newly formed Republic placed on education, after 60 years.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, who greeted the alumni with a “Welcome,” expressed his happiness at being reunited with them. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız noted that the foundation of our university was laid with the establishment of the Orta Muallim Mektebi and Terbiye Enstitüsü, which were opened in 1926 to meet the teacher needs of the newly established Republic. Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, since that time, qualified teachers trained under the same roof of our institution have made significant contributions as pioneers in their fields to the development of Anatolia. He highlighted that the 1964 graduates of the Gazi Education Institute’s English Language Teaching Department are a prime example of this. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, also expressed that the alumni are an integral part of the great Gazi family.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Musa Yıldız, along with Dean Prof. Dr. Mahmut Selvi and Prof. Dr. Paşa Tevfik Cephe, presented the alumni with their graduation cards and certificates for the saplings planted in their names in the Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin Forest, as part of the university's afforestation efforts.At the end of the ceremony, a group photo was taken in front of the Rectorate Building.
