The Istanbul Human Resources Forum, organised by the Presidency Human Resources Office, was held on 17 February 2025 at the Istanbul Congress Centre under the theme of “Talent-Based Development.” The forum brought together high-level representatives of international organisations, human resources managers from the public and private sectors, leading academics in the field, career counsellors and representatives of civil society organisations.

The Forum, held for the third time this year, welcomed over 1,200 participants from 20 countries. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Salim Atay, Head of the Human Resources Office of the Presidency, stated that investment in people contributes 2.9 times more to development than investment in physical capital and that this is the driving force behind sustainability. Attending the opening of the forum, Minister of Industry and Technology Fatih Kacır stated that they consider talent to be the most valuable asset of our age and innovation to be the driving force behind sustainable growth.

During the forum, representatives from various institutions and organisations gathered to discuss future human resources strategies while sharing successful human resources practices at the national and international levels. At the event, which focused on innovative approaches, the contributions that human resources strategies based on talent development will make to the country's economy were emphasised. At the forum, which was attended by our Career Centre Deputy Director, Lecturer Gökçe Türkmen, representing our university, valuable information was shared on best practices in talent management and human resources. The panels emphasised the importance of institutions and organisations developing their human resources strategies by focusing on talent development, thereby contributing to the country's economy. In addition, at the Forum, which was attended by representatives of the public and private sectors and umbrella organisations at national and international level, it was emphasised that people are one of the most important elements of development.
