The Career Representatives Workshop, organised by Gazi University Career Planning Application and Research Centre (KAPUM), was held with the participation of academic staff determined as career representatives from all faculties, colleges and departments of our university. The event was held in two separate sessions on 19 June 2025. The first session was held at Gazi University Mimar Kemaleddin Hall and the second session was held at Gazi Cultural Centre with an intense participation.
KAPUM Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Günaydın, who made the opening speech of the workshop, shared the vision of the centre and the general objectives of the workshop with the participants. Afterwards, Deputy Director of the Centre Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Türker made a presentation on the activities carried out by the Centre. Lecturer. Aylin Karakuş informed the participants about the Career and Alumni Portal and explained the functioning and usage areas of the portal. İŞKUR Job and Vocational Counsellor Kübra Karakaya shared current data and research results on sector-university cooperation and emphasised the expectations of the labour market. The last presentation of the first session was made by Lecturer from the Quality Coordination Unit Lecturer Dr. Sena Gencan made the last presentation. Gencan explained the impact of systematic reporting of internal activities on accreditation and quality assurance processes from an academic perspective.
In the second session, round table discussions were held to evaluate current activities to support the career development of students and alumni. Our Career Representatives identified common problems in groups and developed solutions. In the brainstorming sessions conducted within the framework of guiding questions prepared by KAPUM, the difficulties encountered in career planning and alumni activities processes and suggestions for improvement were discussed.
The workshop concluded with the reading of the table reports and it was stated that these views will be taken into consideration in the future planning of the Centre.
