Our event titled “Turn Your Language into a Career, Chart Your Course: Global Opportunities in Cruise Tourism” held on April 28 at 1:30 p.m. in the Seminar Hall of Block F at the Gazi Faculty of Education, began with a moment of silence and the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem, and was successfully concluded with a high turnout. The event was moderated by Lecturer Cansu Nur AKMAN from the Career Planning Application and Research Centre.

It then continued with an opening address by Assoc. Prof Dr Abdullah TÜRKER, Deputy Director of the Career Planning Application and Research Centre. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of students taking advantage of international opportunities in their career planning processes.

MSC Espit Turkey Human Resources Manager Muammer SONGUR shared extensive information on global opportunities in cruise tourism, career opportunities in the industry, and recruiting processes as part of the event. Next, cruise ship manager Zafer Dal offered participants valuable insights by candidly sharing his professional experiences, career journey, and lessons learned in the industry. Throughout the program, particular emphasis was placed on the crucial role that foreign language skills play in accessing international career opportunities, with the goal of raising students’ awareness in this area.

Our event was also attended by Deputy Director Lecturer Dr Yusuf Ziya AKTAŞ and Lecturer Dr Elif BOZKURT ALVURDU, faculty members of the Career Planning Application and Research Centre, who contributed to the academic and institutional aspects of the program.

Our interactive event ended with our Assistant Director of KAPUM Lecturer Dr Abdullah Türker presenting Mr. Songur and Mr. Dal their certificates of appreciation and gifts. Thank you to our speakers for their valuable insight and participants for their attendance.
